A Gardener's Notes

It’s been dry and sunny so we worked over our climbers a couple of days ago. It’s a good idea to remove the leaves from all of your roses so they don’t winter-over black spot. We have ten climbing roses, so this can be a big job. We aren’t done. When buying roses BE SURE you buy only those that are known to be disease resistant and recommended for the PNW. We have a few roses that were gifted to us when the garden was new. Keeping them healthy is a huge effort.
